About the event
About the Artist
Ranita De began her musical journey at the age of four under the guidance of her father, Tapan Kumar De, before training with Raza Ali Khan of the Kasur Patiala Gharana. She gave her first stage performance at the age of six and has been performing continuously since the age of eleven.
Born in Kolkata and now based in Mumbai, Ranita brings a voice that is at once powerful and tender — rooted in classical discipline yet deeply expressive. Her repertoire spans Khayal, Thumri, and Bhajan, each rendered with a sensitivity that draws listeners into the heart of every raga.
About the Accompanists
Pavan Sidam (Tabla) provides the rhythmic foundation, weaving intricate taal patterns that breathe with the music — supporting, responding, and elevating every phrase.
Siddarth Mesta (Harmonium) adds harmonic depth, creating a melodic cushion that complements the vocals and enriches the sonic landscape of the performance.
